Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This page describes how the current RulersKit website works. It is an explanation of current behavior, not legal advice or a guarantee of compliance with every law or requirement.
Measurements and device information
The ruler, calibration calculations, and point-to-point measurements run in your browser. Measurement points exist in page memory while you use the tool; the app does not save those points to its own server. Where the browser supports it, RulersKit may read a device model hint to choose a supported display profile. This hint is used in the browser to select an estimate; the app does not send it to a RulersKit measurement backend.
Local storage
RulersKit uses your browser's local storage for preferences and calibration settings, including your selected unit, theme, visible ruler edges, calibration scale and method, and selected device profile. These values remain in the browser profile on your device and are read when you return. You can remove them through your browser's site-data or storage settings; doing so clears saved preferences and calibration.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Vercel. When your browser requests a page or file, the hosting service receives network and request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as the connecting IP address and standard HTTP request metadata. This handling is subject to Vercel's privacy policy and its operational practices. RulersKit does not control the hosting provider's infrastructure or data retention.
Local storage is available to the website in your browser and may be accessible to someone using the same browser profile or to browser extensions with relevant access. No online service can promise absolute security; use a private device if that matters for your situation.
Cookies and advertising
The current RulersKit application code does not set or read cookies and does not include analytics or advertising scripts. Your browser and hosting provider may still process request data or technologies needed to deliver and protect the website.
Google AdSense is not currently installed on this site. If advertising is enabled in the future, Google and other participating ad providers may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve or limit ads, measure ad performance, and—depending on settings and applicable choices—personalize advertising. Google describes its practices in How AdSense uses cookies.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. If Google advertising is later enabled, Google's Ads and personalization settings may also provide controls. Before adding ad technology, the site would need to review the providers, audience locations, and account setup, then implement any applicable disclosures and consent or privacy choices. A policy statement by itself does not configure those controls or guarantee compliance.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the site changes. The date at the top indicates the latest revision. For privacy questions, contact rulerskit@gmail.com.
